This extension, completed November ’22, provides a new entrance with reception, office and sick bay to Stanmore Primary School in Winchester, built 1929. The existing reception is difficult to find, concealed behind the library wing and up a steep flight of steps. The new reception by contrast, is clearly visible, easier to access and improves site security. The new build also links into the waiting area and Senior Management Suite opposite, both of which have been refurbished.

The scheme has traditional masonry construction with a flat felt roof and links into the timber corridor which runs along the Junior’s wing, formerly the veranda. It sits over made ground in a heavily serviced area.

Scheme completed on programme and on budget. Excellent feedback from the client. Project scored 9/10 for combined HCC/contractor overall performance.
