This three classroom extension with school kitchen refurbishment was built to replace three temporary classrooms on the site of Colden Common Primary School. Two site strategy workshops were held with the school and local community to decide the best location for the extension. Set at right angles to the existing classroom wing, the new build creates an H plan and sets a new direction for future extensions. Whilst based on a ‘shared design’ in plan and form, the detailing and materials however, are sympathetic to the existing. Completed July 2020 on budget and on programme.
